63.2(17) License & Registration Procedures
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/02/2021 and concluded on 02/08/2021. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 9 children present and 3 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-A Description: All employees shall undergo background checks in accordance with subsection B upon employment and every five years thereafter.
The most recent child protective services central registry search for staff #2 is dated 8/4/2015. Results of a central registry search within the past five years were not available.
Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
Staff 2 was on leave due to decreased enrollment/Covid 19 when the five year time frame occurred. She returned to actively working in January 2021 and we failed to obtain a new search. A new search of the central registry will be requested immediately.
