This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 2/26/2021. The Manager was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were no children present and no staff present due to the program being closed during a global pandemic. The inspector emailed the Manager a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the Provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on record review and interview, the child day center did not obtain an out-of-state sex offender registry background check for an employee that has resided outside of the state of Virginia within the last five years.
Evidence: Staff #1's sworn disclosure statement confirms that they have resided in West Virginia within the last five years. Staff #1's file does not contain a sex offender registry background check.Plan of Correction: This was corrected during today's inspection. The online registry search was completed during the inspection and documented in the staff's file.
