This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 2/26/2021 and concluded on 2/26/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 6 children present and 5 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on review of two staff files and staff interview, the facility failed to have out of state background checks in the required time frames. Evidence:
1. Staff 1 (date of hire 12/1/2020) indicated on the sworn disclosure statement that she had resided in two other states in the previous 5 years.
2. The facility did not conduct a search of the sex offender registry for Staff 1 in the two other states prior to employment as required.
3.The facility did not conduct a search of the child abuse and neglect search request for Staff 1 in the two other states by the 30th day of employment.Plan of Correction: The background checks will be conducted in the two other states.
