This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 2/8/2021 and concluded on 2/22/2021. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present.. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records and 1 board officer submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-C-1-B Description: Based on review of board officers, the center failed to ensure that all background checks were obtained with in 30 days of taken office.
Evidence:
1. The board officer# 1 took office 3/26/2019 and the central registry (CPS) was sent out on 2/17/2021.Plan of Correction: The program will make sure in the future that all background checks are monitored for dates.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-A Description: Based on review of three staff's records, the center failed to ensure that all background checks were completed every five years.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1 did not have the updated Central Registry (CPS) check completed within in the five year time frame. The most recent CPS check was completed on 3/30/2015.Plan of Correction: The center will make sure that all new board officers will have completed all the required background checks within 30 days of obtaining office.
