This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on March 10, 2021 and concluded on March 10, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 16 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Please complete the "plan of correction" and "date to be corrected" for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to the licensing office within 5 business days. Your plan of correction should contain 1) steps to correct the non-compliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventive measure(s).
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on a review of two staff records, one record did not contain documentation of the required out of state background checks.
Evidence:
1. Documentation reviewed in record for Staff #1 (hire date 10/9/2020) indicated the staff member lived in another state, outside of Virginia, within the last five years.
2. The record for Staff #1 did not contain documentation of an out of state child abuse and neglect search request or finding.
3. The record for Staff #1 did not contain documentation of an out of state sex offender registry search result.
4. The record for Staff #1 did not contain documentation of an out of state criminal history search for an non-NFF state.Plan of Correction: Administration will ensure background checks are completed and documented within the required timeframes.
