Technical Assistance:
Discussed with Director:
*Social Distancing guidance for children. Seating at meals/snack was not distanced as much as it could have been. The ability to receive and apply for the CARES grant is dependent upon meeting the guidelines for social distancing, handwashing, wearing masks etc.
*Follow up on the status of the CO for the facility.

Comments:
This Inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/12/21 and concluded on 03/12/21. The director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 32 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 of staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4
Description: Based on a review of records, one record did not contain documentation of a completed Sex Offender search for a staff member that resided outside of the state within the past 5 years, in the allowable time frame.
Evidence:
Staff #1's record did not contain documentation of a completed Sex Offender search completed by 12/31/2020.

Plan of Correction: The Director reviewed the file, and found the Sex Offender search was not done. A search was completed on 3/10/21 and is now on file. Staff files are being audited at this time.
