Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/10/2021 and concluded on 03/19/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 16 children present and 2 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 staff records and 2 children's records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure that staff have a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.

Evidence:
1. There is no central registry finding on file for staff 1.
a. Staff 1 has a hire date of 09/08/2021.
2. Administrative staff confirmed that a central registry finding was not available for staff 1.

Plan of Correction: A central registry check was mailed in August of 2020 however, the results were not received. A new central registry check request was mailed on 03/20/2021.
