Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F
Description: Based on documentation review and interview, the center did not follow the most recent nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to plan their snack menu.

Evidence:
1. After reviewing the snack menu for the month of March, it was determined that the snack menu from March 1st - March 10th did not meet the requirement to provide two of the four food group components for their AM and their PM snack.
2. The food group components are milk, fruit/vegetable, grains/bread and meat/meat alternate.
3. On the day of the inspection Mandarin Oranges and water were served for the AM snack and Goldfish and water for the PM snack. The snacks served to the children in care did not meet the USDA snack requirements.

Plan of Correction: Program Director will be creating a new rotating menu to ensure all USDA requirements are met.
