This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An announced complaint inspection began on May 13, 2021 and concluded on May 27, 2021, in response to a complaint that was received by the Division of Licensing. Staff were interviewed, applicable documents were reviewed, and areas of the center were observed.
The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation, so the complaint is determined to be "valid". Non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector and the director reviewed guidelines for operation during the state of emergency.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-G Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, it was determined that children under 10 years of age were not always within actual sight and sound supervision of staff.
Evidence:
1. The Licensing Inspector observed two preschool aged children, napping in a back room. The room used for napping was adjacent to a classroom which was about twenty to thirty feet from staff. The napping children were not within sight and sound supervision for approximately two to three minutes.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
