Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 04/27/2021 and concluded on 04/28/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 31 children present and 6 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable subsidy regulations. No violations were issued.

Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure a minimum of two shelter-in-place practice drills per year were conducted for the most likely to occur scenarios.

Evidence:
1. The center only had a record of one shelter-in-place drill in 2020.
2. Administration confirmed that they only completed one of the two required shelter-in-place drills.

Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure to obtain a central registry check from each officer of the board before the end of 30 days after the change of officer.
