- Technical Assistance:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 8/30/2021 and concluded on 8/30/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 13 children present, ranging in ages from 1 year to 11 years, with 5 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records, four agent records and two staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on an interview and a review of two children's records, the center did not maintain and keep at the center a record for two enrolled children. Evidence: 1. The licensing inspector requested to review the records for Child #1 (3 years old) and Child #2 (11 years old), which were not available at the center. 2. The children's names were observed on the attendance sheet for 8/30/2021. 3. Administration reported the children had records, but the owner had removed some new files in order to review them off-site. 4. Administration reported that in case of an emergency, the owner would be contacted by phone to obtain any needed information for the children. Plan of Correction: Administration will ensure that children's records are kept on site during the hours of operation for any child enrolled in care.
