Comments:
This initial inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

The licensing inspector contacted the director via video call to initiate the inspection. There were no children in care on the days of inspection. During the virtual inspection, the entire physical space was reviewed. Emergency supplies, required posted documents, equipment, and the center's Emergency Preparedness Plan were also reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-250-A
Description: Based on documentation review and interview, required written documentation of the approval from local agencies was not provided by the center to the licensing representative.
Evidence:
1) On the dates of inspection, a copy of the fire department inspection report and a copy of the health department inspection report were not available for review. Although a copy of the fire inspection report was submitted with the application, it was not legible so a new copy had been requested.
2) The program director stated that they did not have available these inspection reports.

Plan of Correction: We are working with the school office to locate copies of these reports.
