This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including phone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/15/21 and concluded on 10/27/21. The director was contacted by phone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 11 children present, ranging in ages from infant to toddler, with 4 staff present. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and two staff records were reviewed.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued. New requirements became effective on 10/13/21. The facility has not fully complied with the following requirement: 8VAC20-780-240. The following needs to be included in orientation prior to the staff member working alone with children and no later than seven days of the date of assuming job responsibilities: Prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and use of safe sleep practices; Prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma, including procedure to cope with crying babies or distraught children. The facility is to review the new requirements and work with their assigned inspector to ensure future compliance.
