Technical Assistance:
Reviewed clear documentation related to program leader qualifications.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on January 18, 2022 and concluded on January 20, 2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 46 children present, ranging in ages from 2 1/2 years to age 5, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A-1
Description: Based on a record review and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure to obtain documentation of the screening at the time of employment and prior to coming into contact with children.

Evidence: The record for staff #1 does not include a TB screening. Date of hire 1-3-2022.

Plan of Correction: Employee will bring in c copy TB results on next day to work. Staff is out with COVID.
