Discussion of the new regulations that went into effect 10/13/2021. The Director was encourage to obtain a digital copy for the VDOE/Child Care Virginia website.
Discussion of the new regulation for carbon monoxide detectors for building built prior to 2015. The center was built in 2018.
Discussion of the time frame for all out-of-state background checks. These checks must be obtained and in-house prior to the start date of new staff. These checks include (for each applicable state, US territory, or DC) where a staff person lives or has lived in the past 5 years: a CPS check, a Sex Offender check, and (if the state does not participate in the NFF) a Criminal History Records check.

A monitoring inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program.
This inspection was initiated and concluded on 02/04/2022. The Director was contacted and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 90 children present, ranging from infant to preschool age, with 21 staff supervising within 7 rooms. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, and all 8 new staff records were reviewed.
The information gathered during the inspection determined that there was not a violation to an applicable standard, code, and/or law. Therefore, a Violation Notice was not issued.
