22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on January 28, 2022 and concluded on January 31, 2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 49 children present, ranging in ages 6 months to age 12, with 8 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-C Description: Based on record review and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure at least every two years from the date of the first initial screening or testing, staff members shall obtain and submit the results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening.
Evidence: The record for staff #3 did not include an updated TB screening. The most recent screening available for review is dated 5-13-2019.Plan of Correction: Staff will obtain tuberculosis screening.
