Technical Assistance:
The following was discussed with the program director:
When there is a child in care that requires medication, there is to be at least 1 person on-site at all times that has current Medication Administration Training (MAT). It is recommended that medication is easily accessible to the MAT trained staff but kept in a locked place that can prevent access by children.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 01/21/2022 and concluded on 02/15/2022 The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 10 children present and 2 staff. The inspector emailed the area manager a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 3 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-B
Description: Based on a record review the center did not have an annual approval from the health department.
The center's last documentation of a health inspection was dated 09/20/2019.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the area manager during the exit interview:
The public school the program is housed in has not have a health inspection since 2019. The area manager is working with the school system to obtain this.
