Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 2/24/2022 and concluded on 2/24/2022. The Program Administrator was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children nor staff present during today's inspection. The inspector emailed the administrator a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8
Description: Based on record review, the Licensee failed to have a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician.

EVIDENCE:
Allergy Care Action Plan was unavailable for Child #4. Child #4 has a diagnosed food allergy that was documented in the child record.

Plan of Correction: The plan of correction is that no child will be allowed to start at the center until all documentation is received. Two Administrators must sign off on each application.
