This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using a hybrid protocol, including reviewing some records remotely and an on-site inspection.
A renewal inspection was initiated on February 9, 2022 and was completed on February 18, 2022. On February 9, 2022, there were 59 children present, ranging in ages from 5 months to 7 years, with 13 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies, and nutrition. A total of 4 children's records, 4 complete staff records, and 6 partial staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and the violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-2 Description: Based on staff record review and discussion with the director, one staff member had not obtained a required background check.
Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #5 did not contain a completed Criminal History Record Check. Date of hire was 01/03/2022.
2. The director confirmed that the fingerprint criminal history check had not been completed for Staff #5.Plan of Correction: An appointment was made to get the fingerprint check completed and Staff #5 did not return to work until the results were received. The completed check was received on 02/23/2022.
Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on staff record review and discussion with the director, an out-of-state background check had not been completed for one staff member.
Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #9 did not contain an out-of-state Sex Offender Registry Search. Date of hire was 03/19/2021.
2. The director confirmed that the sex offender check for Staff #9 had not been completed at the time of hire.Plan of Correction: An out-of-state sex offender check during the inspection.
