This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and an on-site tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was initiated on February 7, 2022 and concluded on February 7, 2022. The provider was contacted by telephone and an on-site inspection was conducted. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from Kindergarten to fifth grade, with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records, two staff and three board member records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
In classroom #1, there were three bottles of Betco Disinfectant labeled ?Caution,? ?Hazard,? and ?Keep Out of Reach of Children? and one container of disinfectant spray labeled ?Warning,? ?Keep Out of Reach of Children,? and ?Hazard to Humans? in a cabinet on the bottom shelf accessible by children.
