A discussion was held on posting your current inspection report and having Virginia and out of state background checks for all staff and board of directors. When missing background checks are completed please forward to inspector.

A renewal inspection was conducted on March 9, 2022 following all COVID protocols. There were 20 children present, ranging in age from 4 to 12 years with 3 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 board member records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on review of board of directors record, the facility did not obtain a copy of the results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence
Board of directors #1 and #2 who lived outside the state of Virginia within the past five years do not have a copy of the results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry. Board member #1 for one state, board member #2 for two states.Plan of Correction: The sex offender background check was completed during the inspection, the child abuse and neglect registry background check will be obtained for both board members, Going forward we will have all new board members and staff members complete all Virginia and out of state background checks with in the required time frame. Results will be forwarded to the inspector when received.
Standard #: 8VAC20-770-60-C-2 Description: Based on review of two new board of directors records, two do not have a Virginia central registry finding within 30 days of employment or volunteer service.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-G Description: Based on review of emergency drills, documentation does not include all required information.

The record for emergency drills did not contain all the required information including name of person conducting the drill, current weather conditions, length of drill and method used for notification of drill
