This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including virtual inspection, staff interview and documentation review.
A virtual monitoring inspection was initiated on February 24, 2022 and concluded on March 3, 2022. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 32 children ages 5 years through 14 years under the care and supervision of 2 staff. Children were having homework time and were preparing for snack. Snack today was apple slices and rice krispies treats with water. The inspector reviewed two staff records and four children's records.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility

Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-1-b Description: Based on review of staff records, it was determined that the facility did not obtain central registry background checks for staff within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #2, start date 5/23/2021, did not have central registry background check results in the file. Plan of Correction: The central registry background check has been requested and will be added to the employees file upon acquisition of the physical paperwork.
