22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education
An on site renewal inspection was initiated on 3/15/2022 and additional documentation of received on 3/17/2022. There were 78 children present, ranging in ages from 5 years to 12 years, with 9 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 2 new staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-B Description: Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to have documentation of orientation by the end of the first day of employment. Evidence: Staff A (date of hire 11/16/2021) had documentation of orientation on 12/31/2021. Plan of Correction: Staff A had orientation on 11/16/2021, but the documentation was misplaced. The facility gave orientation training again on 12/31/2021.
