Technical Assistance:
Discussed with management about process of updating the allergy list, having documentaiton in children records about dietary restrictions, sensitivities and allergies, have the child's first and last name on the written list and a process to confim all staff has recieved a updated list dietary restrictions , senstitiviites and allergies.

Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an self report in regards to outside medical treatment that was received by the licensing department on February 23, 2022 . The inspection was initiated on February 24, 2022. Interviews with staff were completed, observations were made in the center, and documentation was reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M
Description: Based on record review and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure that, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions is listed and shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.

Evidence:

1. On February 23, 2022, in the Wobbler classroom, Child #1 had a allergic reaction to eggs.
Staff #1 who provided care to child #1, had a written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions from October 27, 2021. The list did not list Child #1 having an allergey to eggs.

2. Staff #2 stated a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions was updated on February 11, 2022 and child #1's name was on the list. Staff #1 confirmed she did not have a updated copy.

Plan of Correction: Allergies have been updated and plcaed in every room. The MAT captain will ensure proper paperwork is in the office at all times as well as in every classroom . We have purchased allergy bands for kids with allergies to wear and place mats for kids with allergies.
