Technical Assistance:
The licensing inspector and director discussed crib mattresses and ensuring that they are check for cracks and areas that cause them to be absorbent. The licensing inspector and director also discussed resilient surfacing around the swings.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the director on April 26, 2022 beginning at 11:42 AM and ending at 1:40 PM. There were 33 children, ages 7 months through 5 years old, in the care of 5 staff. The children were observed during nap time. Six children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Four staff records were reviewed and in compliance. There were no medications on site to be reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were observed and in compliance. The most recent evacuation drill was documented as 3/30/2022. The most recent shelter-in-place was documented 3/8/2022. The most recent fire inspection was dated 1/31/2022. The most health inspection was dated 1/14/2022.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation the center did not maintain all areas and equipment inside of the center, in a clean, safe, and operable condition. Evidence: In the prep classroom, there was toilet paper unrolled on the floor and the door to the paper towel dispenser hanging open. In school age classroom, one of the bathroom was not clean and had urine residue on the side of the toilet near the floor and on the back of the seat area.

Plan of Correction: The director spoke with the staff regarding the cleanliness of their classrooms during the inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that the diapering surface was nonabsorbent. Evidence: The changing pad in the infant classroom and toddler classroom had cracks on the corners making it absorbent.

Plan of Correction: The director stated that the changing pads would be replaced with new ones.
