1) Please make sure that when you post your list of children with allergies , intolerances and sensitives you are posting the list on the inside of the classroom cabinet s, which provides confidentiality.
2) If you need to move a child or children from one classroom to another, please make sure the staff in both classrooms are reflecting this move on their attendance logs.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today with the director from 8:40 am to 11:10 am.There were 50 children present with 11 staff providing supervision.
Medications for six children were reviewed as well as 4 staff files.
The violations are outlined on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, it was determined that hazardous substances were not kept locked.
Evidence:
1. The Licensing Inspector (LI) observed a container of shave foam on the sink in the Rhino classroom ( 4/5 year old). The foam was in reach of children and had listed cautions on the back of the container. In the same classroom ( Rhino) the LI observed disinfectant solution, disinfectant wipes and adhesive remover in a cabinet above the sink. The cabinet was unlocked.
2) The LI observe a bottle of disinfectant solution on a shelf in the bathroom in the 3 year old classroom, although the solution was inaccessible, it was not locked.Plan of Correction: The hazardous substances were locked and we will talk with staff about the need to keep all hazardous substances locked.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-4 Description: Based on observation, it was determined that the center did not maintain the 1 staff to 10 children ratio in the Elephant classroom, which serves 4 year old children.
Evidence:
The LI observed 11 children with 1 teacher in the Elephant classroom from 9:00 am to 9:04 am.Plan of Correction: The ratio issue was corrected within 4 minutes of occurring. We will be diligent in ensuring that the classrooms maintain the proper staff to child ratios.
