22.1 EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION

Comments:
An on-site renewal inspection was conducted on May 19, 2022 and concluded on May 26, 2022. On May 19, 2022 the licensing inspector was onsite from approximately 3:20 pm until 4:30 pm. The director assisted with the inspection. There were 33 school age children present with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of three child records and four staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevent access by children.

Evidence:

Multiple bottles of cleaning materials were observed unlocked on two tables in the cafeteria used for child care. The director stated the cleaning materials belonged to the school.

Plan of Correction: Per the director: I will work with the school to ensure the cleaning materials are locked during out hours of aftercare. If needed we will purchase a cabinet to store the cleaning materials and keep them locked.
