Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 2:50pm and 3:55pm. There was 1 rooms observed with a total of 28 children with 3 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing independently, eating an afternoon snack and being picked up by the parents. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children's records, fire drill log and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. The site supervisor stated that there are no medications on site this year. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70 Description: Based on record review and interview, staff records kept on site did not contain all required information.
Evidence: There was no documentation of an emergency contact name and phone number in case of an emergency for Staff #3. The site supervisor confirmed that they had not obtained and could not locate emergency contact information for Staff #3.
Plan of Correction: I'll have them fill out a hard copy of the form to keep on site and I'll ask the office to upload the information online.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-F Description: Based on observation and interview, all requirements were not met when the center chose to provide snacks.
Evidence: There were no food menu of the food being served to the children at the center. The site supervisor confirmed that they did not print off the June snack menu.
Plan of Correction: I'll print and post the menu.
