An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:00 until 11:40 AM. At the time of the inspection, there were 23 preschool children in care with six staff. The sample size was three children's records. Violations are cited on the attached violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: Based on observation, it was determined that the center did not maintain a written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions available to all staff.
Evidence:
There was not an allergy list posted in classroom D.Plan of Correction: An allergy list was posted in the classroom during the inspection. Going forward, the center will ensure that allergy lists are posted in each classroom.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-P Description: Based on review of medication in the medication box, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that medication was picked up within 14 days of expiration of the authorization.
Evidence
There was an inhaler with an expired authorization in the medication box for a child who left care on 1/5/2022..Plan of Correction: Facility staff had previously notified parent to pick up medication. Medication will be disposed of today.
