An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted on July 21, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 74 children, ages 6 months through 12, in the care of 14 staff. No medication was being administered at the time.
Areas observed were: outside play, hand washing/diapering procedures, lunch and nap. Children appeared to be well aware of the daily routine and schedule.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-1 Description: Based on observation, the center failed to obtain the required ratio in one classroom.
Evidence:
1. Nine children ages 8 months to 16 months were observed with 2 staff members from 11:40 a.m. until 11:44 a.m.
2. The ratio for birth to 16 months is one staff or every four children.
