Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation, Areas and equipment inside and outside of the center were not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. In the Preschool B classroom, paint was peeling under the board.
2. In the Pre-K-B classroom, paint was peeling in the corner of the classroom and in the bathroom (large area).
3. In the School age 2 classroom, paint was peeling above the toilet.
4. On the playground, three tricycles had rust on the base.Plan of Correction: Paint Touch Ups will be repaired this month to all focus areas.
Outside bicycles will also be repaired with paint.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, potentially hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. In the Preschool B classroom, 4 cleaning products were in a cabinet above the sink. The child safety lock was not engaged/attached to keep the cabinet locked.Plan of Correction: Lock was engaged and attached
immediately. Spoke with teacher
about keeping potentially
hazardous materials out.
