Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director, who was present with 57 children and 8 staff. The children were engaged in a variety of curriculum activities and then transitioned to lunch time. Six children's files and 5 staff files were reviewed. Medications were reviewed for 10 children along with 4 allergy care plans. A sample size of 7 injury/accident reports were reviewed. The area of non compliance is documented on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-E
Description: Based on a review of medication and an interview with staff, it was determined that the duration of the authorization had expired and not renewed.
Evidence:
For child A, the parental and physician authorizations for Epinephrine and an Antihistamine had a duration expiration dated on 7/8/22.

Plan of Correction: We will get the authorization renewed.
