An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director, who was present with 57 children and 8 staff. The children were engaged in a variety of curriculum activities and then transitioned to lunch time. Six children's files and 5 staff files were reviewed. Medications were reviewed for 10 children along with 4 allergy care plans. A sample size of 7 injury/accident reports were reviewed. The area of non compliance is documented on the violation notice.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-E Description: Based on a review of medication and an interview with staff, it was determined that the duration of the authorization had expired and not renewed.
For child A, the parental and physician authorizations for Epinephrine and an Antihistamine had a duration expiration dated on 7/8/22.
Plan of Correction: We will get the authorization renewed.
