An unannounced inspection was conducted on July 15, 2022, with another local agency and ended on August 30, 2022, regarding a three year old child being grabbed by the arm by at staff. Interviews were conducted, and documentation and video-camera footage were reviewed.
in response to a self-reported incident regarding a three year old grabbed by the arm by a staff. Based on interviews conducted and documentation reviewed, the incident is deemed valid. Violations cited for programs and care and protection of children and are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-410-1 Complaint related: No Description: Based on video-camera footage, a child's physical, intellectual , emotional, and social well-being and growth. Staff did not interact with the child and one another to provide needed help, comfort, support.
Evidence:
1. Staff was observed in grabbing a child by the upper arm as the child stood up and walked away from the chair. The staff held the child's arm to have child sit back down in the chair. The child got up and walked away from chair.
2. Administration was made aware of the staff's interaction was the child and discussed appropriate ways to hold a child when redirecting.
3. Disciplinary actions were given to the staff for the incident.Plan of Correction: Staff was advised of proper handling of child. Staff person terminated
