An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on September 13, 2022, to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection begin at approximately 10:30 AM and concluded at 1:30 PM. There were 75 children present, with 12 staff supervising. The center's director was present for the inspection. During the tour, the inspector observed the children participating in a table activities, circle time, playing outside, napping, tummy time, and interacting with peers and staff. The inspector observed 9 classrooms, playground, buses, and restrooms. The classrooms are equipped with age and stage appropriate materials. The center's first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. Liability insurance, health inspection, and drills were all in compliance. A total of 5 child records, and 5 staff records were reviewed. There were violations cited during today?s inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on the observation and interview, the applicant did not ensure areas of the equipment of the center, inside and outside, will be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. A portion of the bottom wall border was pulled away from the wall in the Pre-K 1 classroom and the Yellow Birds Pre-K classroom. 2. A liquid substance was wasted on the floor in the Orange Birds classroom. 3. Chipped paint was observed in 4 classrooms on the window frames. 4. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1 A bottle of window cleaner was stored over the refrigerator on a shelf in the Baby Bird 1 classroom. 2.
