A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/12/2022 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Areas of noncompliance are identified on the violation notice and were discussed with the director in an exit meeting at the conclusion of this inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on record review and interview it was determined the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children have within 90 days of the date of employment current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff #2 (hired 2/17/22) did not contain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
2. Staff confirmed that this documentation was not available during this inspection.Plan of Correction: Director will follow up on staff's completion of the course and the documentation for the record.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-2 Description: Based on record review and interview it was determined the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children have within 90 days of the date of employment current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-F Description: Based on record review and interview it was determined the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children, in addition to preservice and orientation training required in subsections A through D of this section, annually attend at least 16 hours of training and staff development activities, to include the department's health and safety update course. Evidence:
1. The record for staff #1 (hired 12/12/2018) did not contain documentation of completing the department's annual health and safety update.
