A renewal inspection was conducted on October 12, 2022 from approximately 8:50 AM to 11:35 AM. There were 30 children present, ranging in ages from infant to five years, with seven staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and five staff records were reviewed. The provider stated that transportation is provided and the vehicle and transportation documents were reviewed. Medication is administered, and medication, authorization forms and allergy plans were reviewed. The annual staff training hours and annual fire and health inspections were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction and the date to be corrected for each violation listed on the violation notice and return it to the department within 5 business days from receipt. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center did not ensure that each staff member shall submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening (TB) at the time of employment, prior to coming in contact with children and been completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment.
Evidence:

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, are kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
In classroom #2, one container of Clorox wipes labeled " Caution" and "Keep Out Of Reach of Children" was located on top of the cubbies.
In classroom #3, the diaper changing area had Lysol and disinfecting wipes labeled "Caution" and " Keep Out of Reach of Children" accessible to children.
