A monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/24/2022 There were 4 children present and 1 staff. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
The gate to the kitchen was opened and there was an unlocked drawer containing sanitizing tablets.Plan of Correction: The gate and drawer were locked during the inspection.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-340-C Description: Based on observation and interview the center did not ensure all supervision requirements were met. Evidence: When the inspector arrived around or about 11:45am, there was only 1 staff member in the building with 4 children napping. There was not a second staff in the building or immediately available. Plan of Correction: There was a personal emergency the second staff had to attend to. The director will come-up with a plan to ensure there is someone to contact in the event additional staff is needed and there are always at least 2 staff present when children are in care.
