An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, November 1, 2022 to determine the centers compliance with licensing standards. The licensing inspector was on site from approximately 3:30 pm to 5:20 pm. The Director assisted with the inspection. There were 14 children present with two staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Children were observed washing their hands, having snack, working on homework and playing in centers. Centers included building and coloring. Staff interacted with children in a positive manner. A total of five child records and four staff records were reviewed. Staff records were reviewed on November 3, 2022. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8 Description: Based on review of children?s records and interview, the center did not obtain a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy.
Evidence:
The record of child #4, diagnosed with a food allergy, did not contain a written care plan that included instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-L Description: Based on review of staff records and interview, the center did not ensure there was always at least one staff member on duty who has obtained within the last three years instruction in performing the daily health observation training.
Evidence:
Neither record of staff #1 or staff #2 had documentation of daily health observation training within the past three years. Staff #1 and staff #2 were the only staff on site during the inspection on 11/1/2022.
