The licensing inspector conducted an announced initial inspection on Thursday, November 10, 2022. The inspection begin at 9:40 AM and concluded at 11:45 AM. The center director and owner were present during the inspection and assisted the licensing inspector. The center plans to operate ten classrooms, for children aging in range from one month to twelve years. The classrooms were observed to be well laid out and filled with equipment for the children. The classrooms have toys, educational materials, games, arts and crafts materials, books, tables, chairs, cots, cribs and many other items for the children to use. The outside play area was also inspected. The center will provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack daily. Transportation will be offered at a later time. During the inspection, the following items were reviewed and discussed; emergency preparedness plan, emergency supplies, storage of cleaning supplies, daily attendance sheets, infant daily sheets, diapering procedures and bathroom breaks along with staff supervision. Emergency supplies including the first aid kit, battery operated radio and flashlight were checked. The inspector reviewed five children?s records and five staff records. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. A red chair in the 3 year old classroom, was torn in the middle of the chair and on the arms of the chair?s vinyl exposing the cushion.
2. A red chair in the 2 year old classroom had a tear on both arms of the chair exposing the cushion.
3. Chipped paint was observed in the 3 year old and 4 year old classrooms on the window frames.
4. The hot water knob at the sink in the 4?s classroom, was broken.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
