A monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/16/2022. There were 54 children present and 8 staff. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-J Description: Based on interview and record review the center did not ensure all requirements were met when agreeing to administer medication.
Evidence:
There were 2 medications for children on-site with documentation of the center's intent to administer if needed. There was no staff member that had current Medication Administration Training (MAT).Plan of Correction: All medication will be sent home. The center will not accept any medication until adequate staff obtain MAT.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
In the 2 year-old room there was a hole in the dry wall next to the door leading to the bathroom.Plan of Correction: The dry wall will be repaired this week.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locke place using a safe locking method.
Evidence:
1. In the 2nd building's bathroom there was bleach water and all purpose cleaner on a shelf unlocked on a shelf. There was also a can of Lysol and disinfectant wipes in a cubby in reach of children.
2. In the 1st building there was a can of Lysol and disinfectant wipes unlocked in the 4 year-old classroom.Plan of Correction: All chemicals were removed and placed in locked areas. Provision will be made to have space in the classrooms to store chemicals in a locked area.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-D Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure cleaning and sanitizing materials were not located above food.
Evidence:
In the 2nd building in the 4 year-old room, a container of candy was stored underneath sanitizing supplies on a shelf.Plan of Correction: The Owner/Director will remind all staff about storing chemicals and no food will be stored in any areas containing chemicals.
