Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-12:30pm. All of the classes were observed, classes were in ratio, and the children were directly supervised by staff who were able to answer questions about allergies. The physical plant, staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing, and eating snack, and napping. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on interview and record review, it was determined the center has not updated written procedures to include prevention of shaken baby syndrome or abusive head trauma, including coping with crying babies, safe sleeping practices, and sudden infant death syndrome awareness.

Plan of Correction: We will review policies and add in written plans .
