Technical Assistance:
Discussion of lockdown drill and that the 3 hour updated Health & Safety training will need to be conducted by all applicable staff by 03/30/2023.

Comments:
This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 12/14/2022, between the hours of 10 am to 12;30 pm. There were 5 children present , with 3 staff supervising, across 3 separate classrooms. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with the applicable standard, code, and/or law. This Violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-2
Description: Based on review, 1 of 5 staff files indicated that current certification documentation in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care was not available.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (12/14/2022), current first aid certification documentation was not available for review for Staff #2. The start date for Staff #2 was listed as 09/06/2022.
2. While there was documentation of a certification in CPR, this card did not indicate that it also covered first aid.

Plan of Correction: Certification will be obtained.
