Comments:
Conducted an unannounced inspection at 10:55am. Observed 8 children + 3 direct-care staff + 1 parent volunteer. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed eating snack, reading a book, singing, raking + jumping in leaves, and other active outdoor play. Staff were actively engaged with the children + activities. The facility was sufficiently supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Program space includes indoor + outdoor classrooms. Areas of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed were found. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A
Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 3 staff records did not include documentation of a completed TB test/screening. Evidence: Staff #2 was hired in August 2022, and as of the date of inspection there was no TB test on-file.

Plan of Correction: The TB test will be completed and kept on-file.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that the diaper changing surface has not been cleaned with soap + water and sanitized with bleach + water after each use. Evidence: The director reported that the surface has been cleaned with a household sanitizing wipe product after each use.

Plan of Correction: Moving forward, the required cleaning supplies will be used in the required manner.
