Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on Friday, December 16, 2022 between 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM. There were 49 children in care with 10 staff supervising. During the inspection the inspector observed the children participating in story time, napping, eating lunch, and handwashing. Lunch consisted of Pollock fish, kale, corn, sliced bread, and milk. The inspector observed all 7 classrooms, restrooms, kitchen, and playground. The center's first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The required postings were inspected and found to be incompliance. Liability insurance, health inspection, and drills were all in compliance. Medications and authorizations were reviewed. There were five children's and five staff records reviewed. Violations were cited during today?s inspection. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, the center failed to implement a procedure for staff and children to wash hands after diapering. Evidence: 1. The infant teacher was observed during diapering. The infant teacher did not wash her hands or the child's after diapering.

Plan of Correction: A follow up conversation with staff of proper hand washing procedures after each diaper change.
