8VAC20-790 Subsidy Regulations.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on December 16, 2022 from 9:50 A.M.-1:00 P.M. There were 37 children present with 12 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-F Description: Based on review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that departments health and safety course was taken annually.
Evidence:
1. Staff #3 did not have a 2022 Annual Virginia Health and Safety Update in her file. The last updated training was dated April 21, 2021.
2. Staff verified that the training had not been taken in 2022.Plan of Correction: Staff #3 will return from vacation on 1/16/2023 and will turn it in.
