A monitoring inspection was conducted on 1/06/2023 with the center director and owner. There were 38 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months to 5 years, with 8 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B Description: Based on observation and staff interview, the facility failed to clean and sanitize the diaper changing table as required after each use. Evidence: Staff used a disinfectant wipe to wipe down the diaper changing pad. A spray sanitizer was not used. After diapering, the pad should be cleaned with soap and water, sprayed with bleach water or another sanitizer, and allowed to air dry for a period of at least two minutes. Staff stated that she asked where the spray cleaner and sanitizer were located, but the wipes were readily available. Plan of Correction: Staff will be directed on diapering procedures and location of diapering supplies prior to being tasked with diapering.
