An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:00am-11:00am. There were a total of 56 children with 11 supervising staff members present. Children were observed during drop off, circle time, engaged in group activities and outdoor play time. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not obtain an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction.
Evidence:
1. The center did not obtain a current annual fire inspection. The last annual fire inspection report was dated 11/04/2021.
2. Staff #5 confirmed that an annual fire inspection had not been requested for the current year using the new portal system required by the fire official; therefore, an annual inspection had not been performed for the current year.Plan of Correction: The administration set up an account with the new portal system and have requested an appointment for the annual inspection.
