A monitoring inspection was conducted on 1/18/2023 with the center director and staff. There were 12 children present, ranging in ages from 18 months to 4 years with 3 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The children were having snack and playing with blocks, legos, and manipulatives.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Based on observation, the facility failed to ensure children washed hands with soap and running water or disposable wipes before and after eating meals or snacks. Evidence: the children did not wash hands after eating snack. Plan of Correction: Staff will ensure children wash hands before and after eating.
