An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 01/24/2023 from 2:11 pm - 3:50 pm. At the time of the tour there were 45 children, ages 2 yrs - 11 yrs, in care with 5 teaching staff. Arrival from Public School was observed for the school age children. Preschool children were observed at the conclusion of nap.
Records were reviewed for 3 children and 3 staff.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure that staff shall complete annually a minimum of 16 hours of training appropriate to the age of children in care.
Evidence:
1. There was documentation of only 6 hours of annual training, for calendar year 2022, for staff 1.
2. Administrative staff verified that 16 total hours of annual training was not documented in staff 1's file.Plan of Correction: Administrative staff stated that staff 1 had attended staff meetings in addition to training documentation on file. Going forward, staff 1 will pursue additional training options and administrative staff will ensure all in-house trainings are documented in staff files.
