Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 11:00am-12:15 pm. There were a total of 27 children with three supervising staff members present. Children were observed during toy play, playdough, handwashing, lunch,and engaged in group activities. A selection of staff and children records and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. In Room #26, cleaning products such as Lysol, bleach, pine sol, and sanitizing wipes were located on the bottom shelf of an unlocked cabinet.

Plan of Correction: The cleaning materials will be removed and placed in a locked location.
